» TELL ME SOMETHING I DON'T KNOWALIAS Sylvie (family), Princess/Highness (subordinates), Vana (personal/special)
AGE 25 (January 16, 2091)
GENDER Female
SEXUALITY Heterosexual
ETHNIC Pure Blood Britannian
FACTION Britannia
POSITION First Princess of Britannia
» YOU'RE IN THEN OUTPERSONALITY As the eldest princess, Sylvana cannot help her occasionally matronly persona. She is very protective of her younger siblings, Guardinia and Ayame in particular, and would do anything to spare them harm or sorrow. Around her family, she is very calm and gentle. Often she will set aside time to spend with her siblings, but can only set aside her duties so long.
As one of the only female Imperial Family members that went through the military academy, Sylvana is always aware that she is treated differently. To prevent this, she has learned to keep tight control over her emotions, especially when around her subordinates or fellow officers in an attempt to be not regarded as soft or weak. She has fought to earn the respect she has among the other soldiers and would never do anything to jeopardize that.
On the battle field Sylvana is quick and precise. She is not one for unnecessary bloodshed and shows mercy where it is due. On the other hand however, Sylvana never forgets a slight against her, and will hold a grudge forever. Any who betray her or her family, or who have themselves wronged her, will receive no mercy when the tables are turned. Sylvana's anger does not ignite quickly, but when it does it explodes.
Sylvana is the dutiful daughter and princess who does what is expected of her and does it very well. Not to say she dislikes doing it, but there are times when she dislikes having to separate her life. Deep down, Sylvana is a hopeless romantic who dreams of some day falling in love, but at the same time realizes that as long as she is a military leader, she cannot. A relationship would jeopardize the image she has constructed for herself among the troops. She has even developed a severe dislike of dresses and parties (both of which she used to love) because it forces her to be a princess in public where other officers and soldiers can see, not just with her family. Despite this, however, she still holds out hope that someone will work their way past her tough public exterior and see her for what she really is: a lonely fairy-tale princess looking for her true love.

HISTORY Born the first girl to the Emperor, Sylvana had her fair share of pampering if not by the Emperor himself then by her mother and the palace staff. She was never one to beg for attention, but on the other had she certainly didn't shy away from it. Sylvana grew up a relatively normal princess. She loved dresses and formal events. She enjoyed life in general and all it had to offer. She lost herself in fantasies of true love and chivalry, dreaming of that one day happening to her.
As the first princess, Sylvana was schooled to someday rule Britannia. She took lessons alongside Alastair for they were both close in age and she enjoyed their time together. She considered them to be close and remained that way even when her two little sisters came along. Sylvana went out of her way to keep Guardinia and Ayame happy (and out of trouble), but never lost her relationship with Alastair even through their teenage years.
It was upon entering the military academy that Sylvana lost some of her innocence. The first princess to attend, and the only girl in most of her classes, Sylvana was mercilessly teased. The teasing only went so far because she was after all a princess and to torment her was to invoke the wrath of the Emperor, but Sylvana never pulled rank or went to her parents or older brother. For a while she let it go, but when she was sixteen she could bear no more and faced up to one of the other students. She had him pinned, face in the dirt and twisting his arm behind his back in only a few minutes. Once he yielded, she let him up and she didn't hear the put downs again.
Just because she didn't hear them, however, didn't mean they weren't there, and in the years that followed her graduation, Sylvana fought hard to earn the respect of her colleagues. She was determined to prove herself a capable warrior, not some soft girl to be brushed aside, so she set aside the little girl dreaming of true love and adopted a more confident, independent persona for the other soldiers to see. She was a leader and only a leader to them. Not a girl. Not a princess. Just their commander. For this reason she has avoided choosing a personal knight. Having a protector would imply that she was incapable of protecting herself, and she is firmly against it.
With Alastair now ruling Britannia, Sylvanna is first in line, but unlike many noble families she's known, she has no desire to overthrow him. Rather, she intends to serve him as she served their father before him, give him any help he needs, and do whatever he asks of her.

RP-HISTORY 10 years
SAMPLE Sylvana closed her journal and set it beside her on the arm of the chair she was curled in. True love. It was what she had dreamed of since she was a little girl, but it was something that was lost on her now. Relationships. Sentimentality. Romance. It was all viewed as a form of weakness in the military world, and as long as Sylvana desired to serve her country and protect what she held dear, she would be unable to attain the sort of love she so greatly desired. It was a sacrifice she was willing to make. There was a saying that it is better to have love and lost than to have never loved at all. But if she never loved, she would never know what she was missing. It wouldn’t hurt then. It would just be. It was the way of the world.
That was a lie, and Sylvana’s heart told her so. With a sigh she stood, leaving the journal, the gateway to her own personal fantasy land, open on the chair. Throwing open the doors to her balcony, Sylvana stepped out into the cool night air in nothing but a thin night gown to gaze up at the moon. The silver lady it was called in so many of her books. She was the one who watched over lovers. She was the one that so many times Sylvana had written about speaking to, asking for protection and sanctuary. And she was the one who had denied Sylvana the one thing her heart desired. Although it was hardly her fault. The moon but rises and falls. She has no control over what goes on under her light. With a soft sigh, Sylvana turned from the moon and returned to her chair to finish her story.
“Vana…” He whispered in her ear, and she knew she was loved.
