Code Name: Baima
Cost: 3,300
Basic Frame: While sharing similar parts with the Gun-ru, the Baima is in general a completely new frame instead of an evolution of the Gun-ru.
Manufacturer: Chinese Government
Operator: Chinese Federation
Accommodation: 1
Equipment and Design Features
Baima Default Setup: 1x Medium Artillery Gun, 2x light rocket launcher, 2x Grenade, 1x Assault Rifle, 1x Wo dao/Zhanma Dao, 2x Slash Harken
The Baima, like the gun-ru, is less a knightmare frame than a hybrid between the archaic tank and the Knightmare frame. The Baima in fact resembles an armored car in that its chassis in in fact that of an automobile. The tires are in fact jury-rigged from older tanks and as such is filled with foam (allowing it to function even when the tire is punctured). As a tank-type Knightmare, the Baima is not especially maneuverable in close range, but it makes up for this weakness with relatively heavy armor, a high top speed and many weapons. Baimas generally can stow several weapons in its back in addition to its primary weapon, a medium artillery gun that can be used on aircraft and buildings from a long range (though with a low firing rate).
Unlike the Gun-ru, the Baima has several advantages against other knightmares. The Baima's bulk and width (having four wheel's worth of support instead of two and having a larger center of gravity) makes its armored bulk a weapon in itself that can slam the average knightmare off its feet. The light rocket launchers, while not particularly explosive, are built to penetrate just deep enough to expose enemy knightmare circuits via harpoons. The Baima also sports a melee weapon, the Wo Dao or the Zhanma Dao. Because it is shorter than other knightmares, the Baima can easily reach for enemy Knightmare legs and decapitate the opponent either by slicing off one of the opponent's legs or ramming it. This also bestows a defensive advantage, in that most modern knightmares are built to fight other knightmares of similar height, and so have difficulty targeting low-cut knightmares.
Description: The Baima's size is smaller than not only a gun-ru, but also somewhat shorter (if wider) than a traditional knightmare frame. Its top resembles the Gun-ru Knightmares' head, though its torso has humanoid characteristics such as dexterous limbs. Being more a tank than a knightmare, the Baima cannot jump. Like most Chinese federation knightmares, the Baima isn't especially adaptable and cannot use many parts.
Code Name: Wo Dao/Zhanma Dao
Cost: 700
Manufacturer: Chinese Military
Part Type: Melee weapon
Construction Type: Physical
Equipment and Design Features: The Wo Dao was a long sword used by the Chinese and Korean militaries against cavalry in the 1600's, while the Zhanmadao, a traditional chinese weapon, is a polearm with a long cutting blade and a long pole, allowing it to function as a spear. Both weapons in the Chinese Military are relatively cheap weapons, and are deployed by the Baima Knightmare frame. The user makes passes on enemy knightmares, swinging at legs to shear them off.
