Capable and aggressive are two words that apply very well to Kristoph. He is a hard worker, but often appears to have issues with authority due to his sarcastic and irreverent tendencies. In spite of what he says in response to receiving an order, Kristoph will not stop working until he has accomplished his objectives. He is also known for being a little overzealous in completing his goals – the ends always justify the means to Kristoph.
As a soldier, Kristoph is a willing combatant and a skilled aerial pilot. Whether the craft is meant for transport or raining destruction down on a target, chances are good that Kristoph has not only flown it, but has mastered controlling the craft. His flight skills are inverse to his abilities as a Knightmare Devicer, however and as a result, he harbors a deep hatred for Knightmare Frames.
A rather independent person, Kristoph rarely relies on others. It is not out of a lack of trust in others, but rather due to his absolute confidence in himself. This confidence is often seen by others as arrogance and has often lead to confrontations. Kristoph rather enjoys it when people make that mistake, though, as he rather enjoys competition - whether they're tests of skill in a VTOL, drinking contests, or even fist fights, Kristoph will see the competition through to the end with a grin.

HISTORY
Kristoph Vashti was born to common parents on land that had once been owned by the formerly-noble Lowenthal family. Thanks to the new system of government that formed after Emperor Lelouch’s death, Kristoph’s family was quite wealthy. Money does little to quell mischievous children, though, and Kristoph was often used as his older brother’s punching bag. Thanks to his independent nature, Kristoph rarely, if ever, went to his parents to tattle. If anything his brother picked on him even more because of his stubbornness because he could get away with it.
That lasted until Kristoph started fighting back in his own way at age 5. He broke Michael’s toys while he was away, got his sister to tattle through lies and deception, and was generally a mean little boy as long as his parents weren’t looking. The two continued their constant battle until Michael threw a snake that he had found in the garden at Kristoph. It bit the young boy but was thankfully not venomous. Ever since that day, Kristoph has had a near-crippling fear of snakes. That day also marked another change in both boys: the day they stopped fighting. Michael, upon seeing his brother hurt and crying for one of the first times since he was a baby, chose to start being nice. They weren’t friends right away, but eventually grew to be very close. Almost as close as Kristoph grew with his childhood friend Frederick Di Lowenthal.
Though the pair was unable to play together very much, Kristoph bonded quickly with Frederick and was often with the boy when his parents came to take him back to their mansion. The pattern of play followed quickly by separation continued until Frederick left to the military. Michael had already left to attend a university, and so Kristoph was left with no one but his sister, Christina. She was only concerned with marrying into a noble family, though, and didn’t make for a very good companion.
In response, Kristoph made the decision to never be stuck in one boring place again and joined the military as soon as he was able. Thanks to his absolutely miserable Knightmare piloting skills, he was forced to start out as a foot soldier, Kristoph fought in several battles on the European front. He was promoted quickly for a commoner, but was often demoted just as fast thanks to his willingness to backtalk his superiors. Eventually, as a way to get rid of him, he was transferred to the Air Corps.
Kristoph was trained extensively in the care and maintenance of flying vehicles, but was left largely on his own on his downtime. He spent his free time in the simulators, learning every available detail about aerial combat. Eventually, his simulator scores surpassed those of the base’s top pilot. The pilot, being a competitive noble, challenged Kristoph to a mock battle in an attempt to “put another lowly commoner back in his place.” The pair received clearance for the exercise and set out for their fighter jets. After a long and arduous dogfight, Kristoph was able to shoot down his opponent’s plane. The noble, disgraced, used his connections to have Kristoph transferred away again.
The cycle of arriving, annoying, and being moved elsewhere repeated for years. It wasn’t until recently that the higher-ups in the Britannian military started considering him for working with the Knights of the Round. By chance, he was assigned to the Knight of One’s unit. So far, Kristoph has only been able to fly in one sortie under this new command.

“This is Aeon. I’m taking off!” Kristoph shouted into his radio as he jammed the throttle forward. His jet rocketed down the tarmac and started climbing rapidly. The reports indicated that friendly forces were getting surrounded by German forces on the ground and in the air. There wasn’t much that Kristoph could do to the hostiles below, but he would tear the ones is the air to pieces.
Thankfully, the base was somewhat close to the action and Kristoph was flying over the battlefield in a matter of minutes. There were several Knightmares equipped with Float Systems hovering over the site, firing down on the Britannian forces. Kristoph grit his teeth and prepared to fire. As soon as the first tones of a missile lock started screeching in his ears, he pressed the firing switch. The plane reverberated with a dull thud as the high-explosive projectile released from the craft. Hardly a second later, it shot out from under his plane and raced through the air. The target Knightmare had started turning to face the new threat when the missile hit and engulfed the Frame in a ball of flame.
The other Knightmares turned towards the jet as several more target locks were attained. With the press of a button, three more of Britannia’s enemies were sent to early graves in coffins of metal and fire. Kristoph jerked the flight stick to the left, putting his plane into a sudden turn on its wingspan as he flew through the enemy formation. One of the Knightmares that he passed opened fire in an attempt at swatting Kristoph down, but missed and destroyed the Float Unit of one of his comrades.
Kristoph brought his plane around, intent on taking out the remaining enemies with this pass. He angled his nose towards a Knightmare on the left and opened fire with his machine cannon. The large-caliber rounds shredded the Frame’s armor and interior, leaving the remains to fall to the ground in pieces. A loud beep in his ear indicated that he had a missile lock on the last enemy. It seemed to hesitate before the Devicer of the Knightmare turned it around and started to fly away in an attempt to escape. “That’s the problem with Knightmares,” Kristoph said with dark humor in his voice. “You’re just too slow.” His second-to-last missile was sent on its way. It impacted on the back of the Knightmare’s body. It doubtless killed the Devicer instantly.
With a smile, Kristoph tipped his wing toward the battle on the ground. From the looks of things, the Britannian forces were regaining their morale after seeing so many of the enemy forces shot down in such a short time and were pushing hard for their lives. Kristoph nodded his approval and turned back to base. “This is Aeon, returning to base. Five Kraut Knightmares splashed.”
“Roger that, Aeon. Good work and welcome back. You are cleared to land on runway three.”
Kristoph brought the jet into a gentle landing sequence and returned to earth, almost sad that the sortie had been so short. He shrugged as he walked away from his plane after bringing it back to its hangar. "Oh well. There will be others." Without putting anymore thought into the matter, he pulled a small bag out of his pocket. Inside was a handful of peppermint candies. He popped one into his mouth and smiled. All in a day's work.
