[[OOC: warning - kinda emo end to a character ^^;]]
Setsuna sat on a hill overlooking the beach. It was dusk, and the sun was setting over the horizon in a bright plethora of colors. Reds, oranges, purples, and pinks mixed in a chaotic harmony of nature against the cold front clouds floating in the sky. Setsuna took it all in.
The nightmares had gotten worst lately. The more she saw the Black Knights and their way of running things, the more she remembered her family. These people... they all gathered together, they all worked together, they all treated each other with respect, yet with a certain degree of affection. They were... like a family.
Setsuna had used her loss as a tool. Her anger was fueled by her despair... like fire to gasoline. But such methods only work for so long. In her downtime she was left with nothing but sorrow. It was the reason why Setsuna only had two settings... angry or alone. She had lost too much to let anything else in. The other Black Knights had tried, to a certain degree, to make a connection to her. But she had shot them all down. She didn't want to get attached... for tomorrow a friend, or a lover, could become another casualty of war, and she couldn't bear the thought of feeling this all over again. Just something else to add to the tally...
Setsuna had often thought of the future. What if they succeed? What if they free Japan? What place would someone as bitter, as broken as herself could have in a peaceful world? She hadn't seen battle in weeks. This had left her with no distractions, just time to dwell in her emotions. It had left her alone with her worst enemy... herself.
Setsuna stood as the sun was beginning to disappear in the horizon, the first few stars beginning to twinkle in the twilight. She took out a cigarette and lit it, taking a long drag. She took a moment and closed her eyes, seeing the faces of her past. Her mother, her father, her brother, and her sister... who was most likely dead. A tear escaped her lids, rolling down her cheek.
She had been trying to comfort herself. Trying to make it seem as though her sister had a chance of being alive. She imagined Aya in a prison somewhere, a ghost of her former self, tortured and scarred. That fate was far worst than death. What was the point of holding on? She had nothing left. Even her country had been taken.
Setsuna unholstered her gun, as she had done many times in the past. She cocked her weapon, taking another drag of her cigarette. Her chest felt heavy, yet hollow. So much had she endured.
"I'm just a girl... a silly little girl against the world... aren't I, daddy?..."
She raised the gun to her temple, opening her eyes and staring at the raising moon, her tears reflecting the stars in the sky.
"I'm coming... I'm going home..."
A single impulse from her brain sent a current of electricity down her nerve endings, signaling her index finger to squeeze. The trigger was pulled, and the hammer struck the pin on the bullet, igniting the gun powder and propelling the bullet down the barrel, a short distance to gray matter.
The gunshot echoed and Setsuna's body collapsed on the grassy hill. Her eyes remained open, staring blankly at the starlit sky. One final tear rolled out of her eye, down her cheek, mixing with the blood, and finally falling off onto the grass.
