Satsumaru is a very quiet young man. Even before his parents were killed, he was just as silent and grim as he is in the present. Rarely does he speak openly, and even when he does, it's even rarer that he is in a casual or cheerful mood. His sole purpose is to defeat Britannia and remove them from his homeland.
He is an old-fashioned Japanese man, despite his young age. Somewhat of a modern-day samurai, he is devoted to the code of bushido and centers himself around war and battle. It his his belief that he'll either succeed in removing Britannia and restoring Japan to its independent state - or die an honorable death trying.History:
The Yoshiyuki family was in the upper-middle class, living in renewed Tokyo as owners of a successful line of clothing stores. Despite the warm and loving household that he was raised in, Satsumaru was a silent and introverted child. His parents were able to respect their child's silent nature and it never inhibited their relationship.
It was the renewal of Britannian dominance through the hand of the Council of Nobles that awakened the real Satsumaru. Though his parents were never aware, he would attend anti-Britannian meetings and stand by at riot scenes to aid any rioters once Britannia sent their military police to crush the rioters. It was this exact scenario that led to his parents' deaths.
Satsumaru was present at the Shinjuku incident that entailed the revival of the masked man known as "Zero". In response, the harsh Governor of Area 11 turned the Knightmare Police loose on the rioters, killing hundreds. It was through Zero's interference that the violence could be stopped. Satsumaru saw his parents fall before a hail of gunfire, only snapping out of his shock when Zero called upon him to take control of one of the open Knightmare Police frames and assist the survivors to safety within the haven Zero transmitted to his screen. Since then, Satsumaru has served as a member of the Order of the Black Knights as an elite warrior and commander against the Britannian occupation.Goal or Dream:
