CATTIVO ANTONI

Cattivo is blessed with looks that perfectly compliment the position he is in. He had a certain noble look about him, and he is always perfectly polished and continually well-dressed. However, at the same time there is a certain quality about him that makes him look less like royalty and more like a command man, and this is what makes him so visually appealing to those within the EU who seek to relate to him. He stands at six feet even, with a medium build, and nothing about him seems overly grand. He has somewhat short, dark brown hair that he generally keeps well-groomed, yet is rather unkempt when he does not have the time to deal with it. He does not mind going out in public without readying himself for said appearance, in fact, he makes it a point to go out looking less like a Premier and more like a working man every so often, so as to better convey the image he so desires.
He always carries himself with the utmost confidence, yet his face conveys a message of kindness. Even his eyes, which some state are the windows to the soul, seem to be reaching out in a desire to help someone. Such an appearance aids in preserving Cattivo's masquerade, as very few even suspect that there may be a man behind this mask of his. When in deep thought or careful consideration of an important issue, however, these eyes of his turn cold and harsh, and seem always to be analyzing as one might expect a machine to. His gaze can be described as nothing short of piercing when he is observing another whom he deems to be a competitor either on the field of battle or debate.PERSONALITY As a figurehead of the European Universe, Cattivo has proven himself to be a hero of the people time and time again. Because the European Universe is run via democracy as opposed to monarchy, anyone who wishes to gather any sort of power within it must know how to cater to an audience, and rally support behind him. As Premier, Cattivo has been unwavering in his opposition to what he has called Britannia's tyrannical state, and has also protested countless times against any injustice he is notified of. Throughout the EU, he is beloved both as a man and as a leader, consistently making public appearances and meeting with even the most inferior of men who request his audience.
Moving from the overall view of public opinion to a more concentrated outlook on his individual personality, Cattivo seems to be quite simple at first glance. Acting in kindness and supporting others around him, one could call him a continual father figure or mentor to any and all that would seek his aid. It seems as if there is no issue too small for the Premier to involve himself in, and he is completely willing to throw his support behind a particular side of an issue if they prove themselves to be worthy of it. Along with this, he has been a philanthropist for his entire life, always giving to various charities from his own personal savings. It is a rare thing for Cattivo to turn down a request for financial aid from those whom he deals with, and he often responds to this request with money from his own pocket, rather than putting he who requests the loan in the debt of the government.
To a majority of his family, friends, and the politicians around him, Cattivo seems to be the most noble man one could dream up, and ideal for the position of Premier. Many in the EU have taken great pride and nationalism in the way in which this man conducts himself, and his actions have boosted nationalism within the EU. In a recent speech, Cattivo was quoted as stating that the EU “will counter the fire of worldwide corruption with the ice of their own earnestness”, a line which many have committed to memory. However, beneath the surface lies something that very few people understand, and fewer still see on a regular basis.
While he seems to be completely fair at all times, administering justice and aiding the weak where he sees fit, all of these actions merely serve to further his own influence within the European Universe. Another result of the EU's democracy is that its candidates must be far more deceptive about their own agenda than those in Britannia. Out of all candidates who seek to win the public's approval, and hide their own shortcomings and desires, Cattivo is the most skilled by far. While in debate with Cattivo on a particular issue, his opponents have often felt as if there was a certain quality about him that they could not quite put their finger on. Cattivo is a master of getting his message across, and forcing others into corners, without ever dirtying his own image. He is able to manipulate his words, actions, and the circumstances in which he finds himself to give off the best image possible.
Though even those closest to Cattivo might see him as warm, kind-hearted, and considerate; the man behind the mask is truly calculating, and will never move without first considering all sides of an issue. His experience in diplomacy is truly second to none in the EU, and he has become a well recognized and even feared face among the politicians and leaders of the world. He will not hesitate to take advantage of a situation, always jumping at the opportunity to exploit another in a moment of weakness, or seize a particular opportunity. However, as a well-versed politician he knows that the voice of the people is more important than any result of his actions, and as such he will not take any course of action that will cause him to be disparaged in the public's eye. Instead, he often chooses to have others act for him, thereby eliminating the chance that he will be implicated.
Militarily, the Premier does have some experience in devising and executing strategy. Being a veteran who served with the European Universe forces before turning to politics after serving his duty, he had displayed both valor and a natural knack for reading the opponent's moves over time. He rose through the ranks quite quickly, and by the time he left he had been controlling very large forces within the EU's military, establishing himself as the superior to many. This had helped him when he turned to politics, as he was safely able to say that he understood the EU inside and out, and could defend them from all enemies, both foreign and domestic. While he is not a pilot or a devicer, and as such will not pilot a Knightmare in battle, he is a natural born strategist, both in regards to political relations and military formations. He actually finds the two to be quite similar, and quite enjoys doing battle with others on any stage.
In summary, Cattivo appears on the outside to be everything one would want in a partner, friend, or leader. Straight-forward, kind, caring, and hard-working are a few of the many adjectives one might attribute to the Premier. However, beneath these attributes lies something that only the especially intuitive can even begin to see, and that is Cattivo's true nature. Everything he does, he does to boost his influence within his nation. What his overall goal is, no one can truly predict at this point. What is certain is that any who deal with him must watch their back, lest they be another victim of the Premier's incredible manipulative ability.

HISTORYCattivo was born in Italy to an impoverished couple whose main source of sustenance came from agriculture. Growing up, he was never granted any sort of luxury whatsoever because of their meager income, and very rarely experienced what some would call livable conditions. It was quite the miracle that Cattivo was able to grow up somewhat strong and healthy, considering these conditions. In spite of this, he experienced that which many people have never had, that being a family that gave him true love and devotion. Both his mother and father spent as much time as possible educating Cattivo, although they were not thoroughly schooled, themselves. Therefore, for the majority of his childhood the boy was not the most learned in such pragmatic subjects as mathematics and the sciences, though there was on subject in particular that he was able to grasp onto.
While they did not have much in the way of schoolbooks and supplies, Cattivo's mother and father held between them an extensive amount of remembrance for stories of adventure and suspense. Often, they would tell Cattivo these stories as he went to sleep, and they soon became his main source of entertainment. Based on his mood, he could request a scary story, a thrilling tale, or a heart-wrenching tragedy, and one of his parents would deliver. As he aged, Cattivo slowly began to expand upon these stories, himself. Instead of having the heroic warrior save the princess and ride off into the setting sun with her, he would instead add a twist, or a plot device that would keep the tale going. Soon, he was crafting entirely new and unique stories all his own, and would tell them to his family. This was his main source of education in the ways of wordplay and rhetoric, and since the day he first began hearing these tales, he has considered fictional literature to be a big part of his life.
Cattivo soon found that his presence in the family was taking a toll on the amount of food they had to eat, and what they needed to survive. As a growing boy, he was requiring more and more to keep himself satisfied, and he could tell that his parents were giving up much to provide for him, even as he helped them with what work they had to do. As such, at the age of 15, Cattivo decided he would offer himself up for military service, as the EU was looking for whatever volunteers they could get. Although they implored him to stay, his parents respected his decision, and knew that in the end it could be a good thing for him. Therefore, he bid them farewell, and left home to meet up with the EU forces at the nearest fort possible.
Arriving, the fort's first impression of Cattivo was that he was too young and scrawny to pull his weight with their forces. They did not, after all, want the military to become something of an orphanage for starving children, and as such only accepted soldiers that had something to offer them. After much persistent begging and pleading with them to give him a chance, they finally agreed to run him through basic exercises to make sure he was capable. Although Cattivo was not the most well-fed or well-bred boy present, day after day of working the fields and toiling with his father and mother had made his body strong, and he was able to scrape his way through these tests, earning himself a position as one of the basic rank and file soldiers within the EU's forces.
As he began working with his unit, Cattivo found that he had a quality about him that not many others seemed to possess. That being, he truly wished to better himself, and was willing to work as hard as possible to do so. Some of the men around him had come from middle of the road families, and who had volunteered for the military out of a sense of nationalism, or a lack of a better plan in life. Some of these men were content to merely ride out their service, and do the absolute minimum to ensure they weren't viewed unfavorably. This was most definitely not Cattivo's point of view, and he transferred every bit of work ethic and loyalty he had felt for his parents and aiding them to his work as a soldier. He was always the first to volunteer for the most painful or dull duties, and worked hard to make up for the lack of effort by those around him. He was completely loyal to his comrades, and never once complained about having to make up for work not done by his fellow soldiers. Over time, not only did he develop to a higher level physically, but he also began what was to be a few long relationships with some of his commanding officers. He would sit with them for long periods of time, and ask them to speak with him about their experiences, the various battles they had been in, and the like. It was no wonder that Cattivo quickly became the favorite of any officer he was stationed under, and it was not long before he began asking them about strategy and such.
While the men he spoke with were not the most devious or incredible military minds in the EU, let alone the world, they served to teach Cattivo the fundamentals of planning and executing strategy. They spoke with him about all manner of ways in which one might go about organizing troops in various scenarios, from when one was overmatched to when one had the advantage. And, as they spoke with him on these things, Cattivo found that it all made complete sense to him. Something in his mind seemed to click, and soon enough Cattivo began the evolution that he had gone through once before when he was a young boy. He began to envisioned certain formations and strategies that one could progress through on the battlefield, and write them in a notepad that he always kept on his person, in case inspiration struck. It was as if his affinity for fiction and storytelling had moved to a more prudent outlet, and he soon began to feel a passion for this that he could never have believed previously. Eventually plucking up the courage to show these works to some of his commanding officers, many of them were completely and utterly struck by the artistry and care with which Cattivo designed these plans, and praised him for them. He continued doing this, all the while working as hard as he could as a typical soldier, for a few years before finally his various connections and his work ethic paid off.
Cattivo was recommended for advancement in rank to a commander's position, which put him in charge of his own force of warriors. Over the years, he'd become quite the strategist, and as such he immediately excelled in this position. He was able to disguise his formations and turn the tables on opponents with absolutely no hesitation, and any force going up against his seemed sure to be annihilated. It wasn't so much that his forces were outright better than those he was faced with, but rather that the misdirection he devised and the way in which he saw through his opponents' defenses was unmatched by any strategist he came in contact with. Slowly, after numerous victories and even more numerous honors, Cattivo rose both in the ranks of the military and in the favorable eye of the EU's government. By the time he reached the age of 30, Cattivo was renowned among the higher ups of the EU as the spearhead of their military forces, and was given an assignment that would define his military career for all.
Being given his first summons before the combined houses of senators and representatives, Cattivo was debriefed on a situation with which he already had some familiarity. There was an insurgent situation in Russia, and the current man in charge of the situation was having some trouble in dealing with such a guerrilla conflict. They wanted Cattivo to take over the situation, and quell the rebellion. He accepted gracefully, and was given complete control over all forces stationed in Russia at the time. This appointment was just the sort of exposure Cattivo needed to gain even more notoriety. He decided that conventional tactics would likely not work on the Russian guerillas, and that was probably why others were having difficulty dealing with the various uprisings. However, when one got past the element of surprise they possessed, the remaining Russian insurgents were merely rabble, hardly a challenge for the EU's well trained military.
So, he began devising strategies specifically designed to lure the enemy into believing it had some sort of hope. It was not very difficult, after all, they had been having success in dealing with his predecessor, so they likely believed that Cattivo would just be another obstacle in the way of their freedom. What they did not count on, however, was how Cattivo's plan all along was merely to destroy what hope they had left. He would engage the enemy with his least skilled units purposefully, forcing the enemy to concentrate on them before turning the tables with support from his most prized of forces. He would feign a flaw in his system, a chink in the armor, and make the enemy believe it had an opening to attack before bringing down the curtain on them, destroying all forces that sought to take advantage of his apparent mistake. Such were the strategies that Cattivo capitalized on, and he knew they would be effective against insurgents such as these. After all, what was a cause without a belief that the cause would lead somewhere? With each successive victory, he was devastating the morale of his enemies, and things went on like this for years, until finally it seemed as if they were on the cusp of victory.
This was when Cattivo decided he would step down as commander of these forces, and end his official military career. The decision was at first critiqued by many, but he finally gave a direct address to the public in which he apologized for his resignation. He stated that through years of fighting, he'd come to the realization that he could do more for the EU as a member of their government, attempting to change things before bloodshed occurred, rather than spilling more blood, himself. This moving and emotionally uplifting speech changed the public's opinion of the man completely, and he ran a campaign for the house of senators that revolved around both his military career and his apparently idealistic view on the EU's situation. He stated that some men were superior to others, not because of some sort of evolutionary advantage or divine right, but because they acted as the noble sentinels of freedom and democracy. This spurred an increase in nationalism within the EU, and he defeated his opponent in a landslide, becoming a senator.
It was here that the calculating military mind seemed to make a transformation. Drawing on influences from throughout his life, Cattivo soon became every common man's dream politician. He was earnest and hardworking, generous and kind, and always supported what seemed to be the “right” side. With his military experience, he knew everything he needed to about tactics and the way in which battle worked to get any conservatives and war hawks on his side. However, with his experience with his background as a son of poverty, he was able to garner the support of liberals throughout the EU who believed he had the interest of the working class in mind. Throughout all of this, he remained a brilliant rhetorician, drawing on the times when he would tell stories as a young boy. It was as if he were crafting the various stances he took the exact same way he carefully crafted his tales as a boy, and each and every voter in the EU was thoroughly entranced by the way in which this man worked. Finally, after serving two consecutive terms as a senator, Cattivo was encouraged by all to run for Premier, and decided to do just that.
Needless to say, his campaign went astonishingly well. The opposing party did, in fact, have trouble finding anyone that was willing to run against him. He was elected from the house of senators by his peers, and this election was supported by the general populace, whom he convinced that he would bring a new life to the EU that had never been seen before. As Premier, he implored those whom he'd been fighting in Russia to reconsider their position, promising to include them in the better life within the EU that he promised all. The conflict in Russia continued, however, but due to his apparent outreach to them, to the public it seemed more due to the ignorance of the Russian insurgents than to the unfairness of the EU. From this point on, Cattivo conducted himself in a flawless manner, always seeming kind and doing what was deemed “right”, and never backing down under pressure from outside forces. He represented the EU powerfully in international relations, and insisted on attending important meetings himself, rather than sending a diplomat. He became known around the globe by the world's leaders as a force to be reckoned with, and he continues to manipulate the situation to his advantage to this day, always looking to take advantage of any opportunities that come his way.
