PERSONALITY: Kayleigh is very intense and driven, usually sleeping less than four hours a day and fretting about 'wasting time' whenever she isn't working, training or otherwise doing something productive, About the sole exception is time spent with her brother Kenneth, who ironically is almost her polar opposite, being a gentle dreamer and a bit of a slacker. Kayleigh doesn't hold this against him, though, seeing it as the duty of people like her to make the world safe for people like him.

Given that much of her work involves pretending to be someone else, she finds mundane social interactions and even everyday small talk awkward outside of it, which makes her come across as cold and abrasive to people she isn't putting up a false front for. Only those close to her (at the moment, basically just her brother and a couple of friends back in the EU) know that the times when she seems rude and introverted are when she is at her most sincere and relaxed.

RELATIVES: Half-brother, Kenneth Fraser; parents (deceased); assorted cousins scattered across the globe.

HISTORY: Kayleigh was born in Scotland, which forms part of Albion, the EU province formerly known as the British Isles. Following the Isles' conquest by Napoleon I in the mid-19th century a.t.b., the nobility who opted not to flee to the Americas and the other leaders who formed the pro-European new government (many of them Scottish, Irish or Welsh nationalists) consciously attempted to distance themselves from the Empire of Britannia. Among other things, they attempted to build a new national identity based on the region's pre-Empire history and culture. This included renaming many places and institutions after figures from Celtic mythology in place of Britannia's Arthurian-influenced styling. Kayleigh is a descendant of the then-head of Clan Fraser, which sided with the new government. She is technically the current head of the clan since the death of her father, but this is largely symbolic since the EU has no privileged aristocracy and the clan lands have long since been sold (Castle Fraser, their former seat, is now a luxury hotel operated by a German business consortium). The family remains wealthy into the present day, however.

Kayleigh's biological mother died when she was a baby, but she adored her stepmother (her father's second wife and Kenneth's mother). Unfortunately, when she was 16, both of her parents were killed during an uprising in the Caucasus, near the EU-Chinese border, while on a business trip. Kayleigh had accompanied them, and survived only because they hid her in a hotel linen closet and sacrificed their own chance of escape to ensure her safety.

» WHAT I LIKE ABOUT YOU

NAME: My login and IRL name is Keith (my two characters' names begin with K because of this; this is something of an RP tradition of mine. They also share my IRL surname.)

RP-HISTORY: I've been RPing online and offline (both pen-and-paper and LARP/freeform) since 2000. Online, I've actually done more GMing than just playing; I'd link to a couple of the games I've run, but unfortunately they're in a currently inaccessible archive.

NOTES: This character is intended to be a *potential* candidate for the new Zero, but can function as a regular member of the Black Knights otherwise; it's up to the mods and the other Black Knights PCs. She could potentially start out as a regular member and be promoted to the new Zero later through RP'ed discussion, if the need for a new Zero is introduced in-game.

(The images, by the way, are of Mitsuru Kirijo from the Persona games, which I haven't played; I simply spent quite considerable time combing the Internet for redheaded Ladies of War who looked about the right age.)
