kuro took Sylvanas words as an insult and he got up and stood right in front of his yes eyes were angry and serious"Bullshit Sylvana it is my choice and honestly who says she isn't a suitable choice you? give me a break reflecting the family since when did we have such high standards for love" he snorted his tone was serious and slightly angry and he kept his glare locked on Sylvana" are you forgetting Empress Marianna she was peasant but was empress and held the title of knight of honer what is the difference" he asked before he heard her talk of being formal" Oh blow it out alright its my house my rules any way" it was slightly shocking that kuro acted like this but it as clear that Sylvana had crossed the line and pushed kuro to far before he caught what Ayame said" Ayame I have thought if over and it is what I want and if you want to throw up please do it away from the pool" he said before he caught the mentioning of a letter and he sighed before accepting a glass of red wine and taking a drink he had a feeling he was going to need it

Normally calm, miyuki didn't pay attention to squabbles, unless it involved her, someone she knew, or she felt she had to step in. Yes, she felt slightly offended at the party the other night, but she did understand. However, this was something completely different.
She stood, her eyes blazing with anger, she spoke in a calm, yet dark voice. "Ayame, did you, or did you not approach kuro, and acted as if I was not there? I know you saw me. Further more, you know that I didn't mean anything, when I brought the deserts and the dishes to the party. I was raised to do things like that. Another thing, I am very serious about mending things between you, me and sylvana. And yes, I am not a member of the family- yet; and I won't be a blood relative, but damnit, I am his fiance, and a human being. You two have placed me in a category, without knowing a damn thing about me. I know very well, you two researched me, and yet you still treat me like a commoner. I would think that the royal family would show more interest in a consort of one of the members."
She paused, the continued. "I have made a move to try to work things out between the three of us, but neither of you wish to do so. And why should I show someone respect, when I get none in return? Because I'm a lower rank? You show someone respect, you get it in return. I'm sure you two also have found out, I have relations with China. I call make a phone call, if you need evidence. Oh, and one other thing- where kuro and I went, after we left- was to see the knightmares. I just so happen to have created a possible new one, that could turn the war in our favor. Neither of you two know any personal things about me- but it's apparent neither one of you care. I would honestly like to get along with the two of you- as it would not help anyone, if there continues to be so much tension and hatred between us. We need to focus on the war, not fighting each other. I understand that you ayame, and possibly the others weren't themselves that night- as the party was short notice."

The First Prince of the Empire had though it would be just another devilishly hot day, which he would have probably spent sitting in some corner of his quarters at the palace. Maybe taking a walk or two at the park if there was quiet enough for no one to notice him. Which was least to say unlikely. So, he would sit still nicely and be a good prince, while enjoying his new, nice little 'collar'. Euric, for an obvious reason as for example being the Viceroy of a certain Area, had left Pendragon after the previous party his younger brother had held. But after the damage the said masquerade had caused to his neck, it hadn't took too long before he was forced to return home - for a simple reason as a forced sick leave.
Neck 2 - Euric 0.
Deep inside Euric could have jumped around for joy sans the 'sick' part - but during last years he had grown quite the sense of commitment into himself, and thus leaving work, especially this close to the Emperor's wedding, wasn't actually a preferable choice even for him. But no choice there was - when your head declines to turn and and every move you try to do with it hurts, let alone some late hours bent over a desk with tons of paperwork... It was too much. Whether he liked it or not, there was now free time for him - in careful supervision of some of the maids that there would be no more strain to him than the doctor had ordered. Or what the maids interpreted of the good old man's words. Which practically meant the Prince either sitting still or laying still. Sure there was plenty of things he could have been able to do - at least in theory - but no. Like he would have been allowed to 'unnecessarily stress himself with unnecessities' like some painting or having music around. Unnecessities my butt. Sure he could always wander peacefully around the palace and observe the paintings and sculptures all around the place, but killing one's time only at it straight for even a day - not to mention the years he had spent watching and admiring those same pieces of art - would make any, even such a friend of art, at least bored. Euric sighed deeply. Even paperwork was better than this.
But then, on the third day of pure torture by absolute boredom, a letter had arrived. Fortunately Euric had got it to his own hands before any maid got any clue what it contained - at least not an invitation to another party held by the Fourth Prince, and surely not a pool party to be mentioned, oh surely not at all. Oh what a ruckus would raise if he would try to get there and out of the palace. But honestly, being this tied up at the place he was supposed to be able to call home, a place which he should have been able to leave when he wanted to, needed to, Euric was becoming more and more distressed every moment. It reminded him too much of the old days - just the same, though at that time he at least got to paint and so on.
But the chance of getting out of this misery was by no means to be wasted, and by the looks of it, the invitation was for the whole family again. And this time, also only for the family. Euric had spent the last evening counting odds who would actually show up and who would not. Sylvana probably would not, that he was quite sure of. Dragging her to that masquerade before had been difficult enough, but to make her leave her work for something as informal a gathering as this one... No. Euric probably wouldn't see his older sister. Sure he knew she hadn't left the palace after the masquerade unlike him, and he could have bumped into her study any time out of his own boredom - but no, that was if he still would have been some 6 years younger or so. His older half-sister wouldn't mind even his neck if he would have came in at the wrong time. But other participants for the pool party... Alastair and his fiancé were also straight out of his supposed guest list. Nia... Well, she was all the way back at Area 11 at school, anyway. So, what did it leave for him, but Ayame. She could get there. Probably would. Well, even two siblings out of - well, many - was better than nothing. The First Prince was dying - to get something to do and to get some company, other than the . Screw his neck - the headrest collar might have been uncomfortable enough, but at least it really worked in keeping his neck somewhat bearable condition by keeping it still. Yay for the overreacting maid collar for keeping the whole man still too. Maybe they missed the old times. Euric definitely did not. Except for the 'escape and run to freedom' part.
With his neck though, he was straight unable to do most of his old escapes (some of those which still lived on in a certain 3rd princess, still giving the almost-a-heart attack effects to the dear, dear Sensei.) But it wasn't like he would have been out of tricks so easily. He had no art of baking on his side - not that it had never been any kind of a hindrance - but what he had, was the art itself. Though at one point he had thought of randomly ordering truck loads of soil and fold it all over the yard to escape during the ruckus, but maybe it would have made too big a mess in the long run. Well. No new garden soil for the flowers of the garden after all. There would be a much easier way - he would simply walk out of it all.
Though some of the worst cases of 'care taker' maids didn't like it too much he was even up and on his feet, a peaceful wander around the palace wasn't too bad a thing for him to do. And so he did, having got up already early to just walk around in the huge and numerous halls of the Imperial Palace. Sure he really did get some enjoyment out of his most favorite pieces of art, but sneakily, all the way, he slowly advanced through the palace to it's main halls and through them, seemingly so interested of the sculptures around the atrium, and whoops, wandered just straight out of the main door. A quick getting rid of of extra clothing which had served as a disguise, leaving him only with seemingly common-looking jeans and a simple white shirt with it's sleeves rolled half up. ...And the collar. But. Tying the longer strands of white of his hair up at the back of his head to be not so clearly recognized (perhaps), he took the first cab he could find and took his direction towards his younger brother's mansion.
By this time a crowd of angry and/or hysteric maids were already swarming around the palace as angry as wasps whose nest was poked with a stick.
But so was the First Prince on his way to the said pool party, and no one could help it anymore. He leaned against the smelly seat of the common taxi and smiled. Even if it was for the headrest around his neck, something else which had almost felt like strangling him earlier had somehow magically disappeared the moment he had got out of the palace area. It didn't make the actual collar of his any more comfortable though. Outside the air conditioned palace - as he soon had noticed - it was hot like hell on earth, and the headrest soon proved to be of the making sweat sort, and nonetheless it was a thing covered with something awfully itchy. But not a word to be able to scratch - if he tried, it was either impossible or resulted him to move his head a bit, which meant an instant stab of an invisible knife to the back of his neck. But as irritating as it was, the shabby taxi without air conditioning felt so much better than any coolness of the palace. Though Euric did hope Kuro would have the said cooling device at his mansion - well, no doubt of it - 'cause that, Euric would not mind. Though he never had understood the idea of having a mansion his own. What point there was to waste money on expensive building not even used and habited constantly, when there were so many other things where those money could've been used to - citizens starving and living poorly, those suffering from war and so and so on. Was it a question of status? 'Oh look, I have money to build things like this, muwahaha and you don't.'? Well. The common things and people lover the First Prince was, he would never understand. Not that he would have loved his younger brother any less because he had one. He just saw no point in it.
Well, sure it was nice a place if one decided to go on such a party spree his younger half-borther had just apparently done. As the taxi got closer and closer of its destination, Euric couldn't help the feeling that also this party, like the last one, would probably have something to do with his half-brother's new consort. Oh yes, there was one Euric had not taken on account when counting the possible participants of the party. Well, she was still so new to the family that Euric hadn't really even remembered the girl until just now. Well. He hadn't had much time to get to know her last time and had pretty much no impression about her at all, as something had apparently happened back then (something he mostly missed while the neck and grimace stuff) and Kuro had left with her before Euric even got to have some decent little conversation with them, but now - if she was coming too, which was actually very likely when you thought about it, maybe he'd now get the chance. He had also pondered whether Kuro had forgotten about the chess game he had demanded of his elder half brother earlier, but with a mental shrug had then let it be - if he still wanted to play, then sure, if not, Euric wouldn't be too eager to remind him simply because of his own lack of skill. Either the better though.
But now, the mansion of said brother was standing quite right outside the taxi's window, and not forgetting to pay for the ride - naturally - Euric stepped out and inhaled deeply the fresh air of getting to actually enjoy for a while and hopefully see some of his siblings again. Well, at least Kuro's servants had expected him to arrive - he was guided inside and through the building to the pool, and offered with so many kinds of refreshments and other pampering (especially because of his neck) that he hardly even had the time to tell all of them off. The vicinity of the pool helped him get rid of the servants though - another thing he didn't get, to keep so many servants just for, well, practically nothing, but let it be with that for now - but at the vicinity of the pool were also things he had not expected to see. Well sure, Ayame was there as he had expected. And with Kuro, also this Miyuki A-, Ana-, Ak-... whatever her name was again apparently present, as he had got the vibe. But annulling all his expectations there was also Sylvana. And a strange glimmer coming from both his brother's and his consort's left hands' third fingers. And by the looks of it, not one of them seemed too happy with each other - now what a party. Again? Opening his mouth, but shutting it soon again, Euric stood at the side of the pool still a bit away of them. He tried it anew, but with same result. The third time finally succeeded just a bit better, in intention of something like 'what did I miss this time', with the result of one word coming out of his mouth. "What..."

“...Wounded-san? He’s alive, isn’t he!? Wounded-san! He’s alive, no? He’s alive...”
"From your expressions, I'd say a military personal of the Britiannian forces has gone missing. This letter now means that he probably hand wrote it- or was forced to. Your tears, princess ayame, indicate that you have been very worried about him, which could have added stress onto you, and your sister- princess sylvana. " Miyuki had immediately picked up on the change in attitude, and the look on the faces of both princesses.
Turning to the man, she said, "Do we know his location, or what condition he's in? We need to find out quickly, and bring him back- he could have picked up vital information about the black knights, and those fighting along side them. If the enemy gets their hands on him, it won't be good news for us."
She then turned to her finance. "Kuro, I think it's time to unveil what we've been working on- if word is given to rescue the captain, it could provide an excellent moment to test them. Let us hope they haven't found him."

The soldier turned to Miyuki, blinking nervously as he seemed to be searching for the proper words.
"N-n-...no, ma'am. We have no information on his whereabouts. One of his attendants found the letter on his desk. If it helps, the custom handgun in his desk is gone and it looks like a few of the reports on Horai Island were shuffled on top of his desk..." the soldier explained, "But...since then, there have been no sightings of the Captain at all, and our information shows that he has not registered passage outside of the Settlement."

The envelope felt unusually heavy in the First Princess’ hands with her own fear of what it contained, and for several moments she just stared at the blank white envelope. She wanted to open it; she needed to open it, but something held her back. Would it be better to go on with no news or to risk the whole thing being a ploy by Anderson? Stress, worry, and anxiety were weighing so heavily on her heart already. The masquerade had been a temporary fix, and it was wearing off quickly. Sylvana knew she was reaching her limit and wasn’t looking to take more stress onto herself. But she needed some news. Any news! And she was willing to risk more stress to her heart to get it.
Kuro’s retorts reached Sylvana’s ears, but she had no mind to respond at the moment. This was far more important than putting her brother in his place, so she took a slow breath and opened the letter. “Don’t look for me. I’ll see you soon enough.” She could identify the captain’s handwriting (She’d seen it often enough after going through his office after his disappearance.), and that helped to reassure her that he was safe. Anderson was many things, but despite whatever doubts her subconscious tried to raise, she truly didn’t think he was a master at forgery.
The message itself both warmed her heart and infuriated Vana. If he could leave her a message, why couldn’t he see her himself or deliver it himself? Nothing about this situation was normal. If Anderson had kidnapped him, had he managed to escape? Why not then return to the base… to her? He must have been there to leave the letter. Was he running? From what? Anderson? Was the doctor really so bold as to chase him back into the heart of a Britannian settlement? Perhaps, but Sylvana had made a point that he was to be detained on sight: no questions asked. He wasn’t likely to get very far.
Vana appreciated that Tristan had left her the message. It was better than no contact at all, and it brought a warm albeit shaky smile to her lips. However, he couldn’t possibly believe that she would simply sit by and wait. Of course she was going to look for him! This was her fault to begin with! She couldn’t do nothing. She’d go crazy. Sure she was stretched thin and under an extra amount of stress, but she knew she would bear a worse burden if she did nothing to try and find him. She needed to have some control in finding him. She couldn’t leave it in someone else’s hands, and she certainly couldn’t leave it up to fate.
"Tristan..." Vana’s hands slowly tightened on the piece of paper and a few tears splashed to the page before she had even realized she was crying. Normally the commander would have been extremely concerned with displaying such a sign of weakness in the presence of a soldier, but her tears were the least of her concerns at the moment, and just this once she didn’t wipe them away angrily, but she didn’t allow them to continue to fall either. The princess took several deep, shaky breaths to calm herself and her tears. He’d see her soon? How soon? Tomorrow? Next week? Next month? …Next year? It was too subjective to make Vana relax. He was alive: that much she believed. But beyond that…
“He’s alive…” Not until Ayame had physically attached herself to Sylvana, did the first princess turn her eyes away from the letter. She had tuned out everyone else the moment she’d opened the letter, but now Vana gently wrapped her arms around her sister, still clutching the letter in one hand. “He’s alive…” Ayame’s tears wet her shirt, and Vana nodded slowly, tightening her arms.
“Yes, he’s alive…” ‘For now…’ Sylvana managed not to add it aloud, but the thought remained in the back of her mind.
“From your expressions, I’d say a military personal of the Britannian forces has gone missing. This letter now means that he probably hand wrote it – or was forced to.” Sylvana’s eyes narrowed. How dare this girl try to involve herself in a matter that was none of her concern? “Your tears, Princess Ayame, indicate that you have been very worried about him, which could have added stress onto you and your sister – Princess Sylvana.” While pleased that the girl was finally showing some respect, this was none of her business. The soldier had clearly come to address Sylvana. What made this girl think it was her place to ‘help’ (if that was what she was poorly attempting to do)? “Do we know his location, or what condition he’s in? We need to find out quickly, and bring him back. He could have picked up vital information about the Black Knights, and those fighting alongside them. If the enemy gets their hands on him, it won’t be good news for us.”
“N-n-…no, ma’am. We have no information on his whereabouts. One of his attendants found the letter on his desk. If it helps, the custom handgun in his desk is gone and it looks like a few of the reports on Horai Island were shuffled on top of his desk…” Yes, it helped a bit to know that he was hopefully armed, and Sylvana took note of the mention of Horai Island for later.
“Kuro, I think it’s time to unveil what we’ve been working on. If word is given to rescue the captain, it could provide an excellent moment to test them. Let us hope they haven’t found him.” If the girl had any sense of self preservation, she had better pray that Sylvana didn’t think her ‘they’ referred to other Britannian search parties.
“Enough!” Sylvana yelled with fury back in her tone, but didn’t move from where she was, still holding Ayame. “Never tell me how to do my job, and don’t you dare assume that you know what is going on! You know nothing! I doubt you had even heard his name until this soldier just told you. Captain Leodegrance was not kidnapped by the Black Knights, if that is what you think, and if his location was known, do you honestly think he would still be missing?” It was bad enough that this girl was an annoyance to Sylvana on a personal level, but her opinion of her had suffered significantly now that she had become an annoyance on a professional level. “Trying to act intelligent just makes you seem even more incompetent than you actually are. I am handling the situation, and I have better officers than you assisting me, so bite your tongue and stay out of it. This is over your head, Warrant Officer Asani.” If the girl didn’t understand a direct order when she was given it, they would have more problems than the girl simply not being up to par for a prince’s wife.
In a calmer tone, Sylvana turned her attention back to the soldier who had delivered the message. “Thank you. If that was all, you’re dismissed.” Briefly, Sylvana’s eyes caught sight of Euric who had been unfortunate enough to arrive during either one of her outbursts or something equally confusing. At the moment, however, she had no intention of pausing to clue him in. Instead, she turned to Kuro. “To answer your question, Kuro, it is not love in which we place such high standards. Our family has high standards for marriages, and this girl is not up to those standards. I have not forgotten Lady Marianne. Although peasant born, she was an exceptionally talented Knightmare pilot. The status her talent as a devicer earned her, made her an excellent candidate for the Emperor’s wife. Your choice of bride, however, has not earned such high esteem.” If Kuro refused to listen to reason, Sylvana had no problem being brutally honest with him. Her tone was not furious like it had been with his concubine, but it was certainly far from pleasant. “Your chosen bride’s bloodline is not distinguished enough to mix with that of a prince, and neither her military rank nor her piloting skill is anywhere near impressive enough to supersede that insufficient bloodline.” Let Kuro get upset; let the girl get upset. It was the truth, and Sylvana didn’t care right now how gently she had presented it. Gentle hadn’t worked the first time. Why try again with the same method? No, her mind was still on the letter she clutched in her hand, and her heart was with the man that had written it.

Ayame remained clinging to Sylvana, her fingertips gripping her elder sister’s shirt while her arms were wrapped securely around Pon-Pon. She wasn’t exactly how she should feel. Part of her was relieved. Relieved that they had gotten word from the Captain. Another part of her was angry. Angry at the idiot for not coming himself to say all was dandy, and instead leaving a letter. But then again, she was glad that there was a letter. She was also worried…just because they got a letter didn’t mean Tristan was 100% in the clear. After all, how long ago was that letter written, anyways? By now he could…
Ayame quickly shook her head. No. No, he was fine. No negative thoughts. Wounded-san was perfectly peachy. He was just playing hide and seek right now…just playing…
Quit kidding yourself.’ ‘Huh?’ Don’t ‘huh’ me. It’s me. ‘Oh. Conscious, right?’ One and only. ‘Yo.’[/i] Yo. ‘Long time no chat, huh?’[/i] Yeah, you usually tune me out. ‘…sorry about that.’ S’okay ‘Wait…if I usually tune you out…why…? Why are you actually listening to me now? Oh, that’s because you’re two seconds away from having a severe breakdown, so you’ve started the whole ‘internal comfort’ process. One of ‘em defense mechanisms.’ ‘Oo. Snazzy.’ Yea, gotta love ‘em Darwinian glitches.’ ‘Seriously.’ So yea…I’m here to snap you out of it, though.’ ‘…hai?’ Don’t go all Japanese on me, honey. You know what I mean. ‘Not really, no.’ …has anyone told you that you are a wet hen? ‘mm, once or twice.’ They weren’t lying. ‘Go fig.’ Yea. So ya, you seriously need to stop fooling yourself. ‘I wasn’t aware that I was, but ok.’ …you know I’m rolling my eyes at you. ‘Didn’t know you had any.’ … ‘Yes, yes, I know. I am a wet hen.’ But seriously: you know damn well that our Wounded-san is not peachy. You know that odds are he’s somewhere dark, cold and utterly miserable (like sensei’s hidden torture chamber that everyone says doesn’t exist), and that right now he’s in a ton of pain- “No…” I mean, why else wouldn’t he be able to come here himself? Perhaps Quack-san has gotten a tighter hold on him than we thought? Maybe Quack-san- “Urusai…” has made our Wounded-san not so cuddly? You know that there’s a chance that he’s dea-
“Enough!” Ayame visibly jumped, her breath hitching in her throat. Her fingers tightened their grip and her body subconsciously moved closer to Sylvana. She peered up at her sister, her vision slightly blurred by her tears. What was going on? Why was Sylvie angry? Last time she checked, Miss Conscious wasn’t heard by the general public so…who or what ruffled her Sylvie-neesama’s feathers? “Never tell me how to do my job, and don’t you dare assume that you know what is going on!” Ayame peered over her shoulder to look at Miyuki and Kuro. And looked back to Sylvana. Back again. Eyes blinked twice.
…Oh. You know nothing! I doubt you had even heard his name until this soldier just told you. Captain Leodegrance was not kidnapped by the Black Knights, if that is what you think, and if his location was known, do you honestly think he would still be missing?” Ayame’s eyes swiveled over to Miyuki, giving her the ‘that’s a rhetorical question-please don’t answer it if you value your life’ look., complete with subtle shaking of the head. She could only hope the girl would get the message. Last thing they needed today was a bloodbath, though the idea of Sylvie loosing it was tempting…
Ayame mentally slapped herself. No, Ayame. Bad thoughts. Go back to your corner and grow mushrooms. …you were never in a corner. ‘Oh. You again.’ Ya. Sylvie-neesama sure is scary when she’s pissed, huh? ‘No kidding. Never seen her this PMSy.’ Whatdaya think caused it? ‘My Pocky’s on that Miyuki chick. Not sure what happened exactly, but I guess she said something about Wounded-san and- Uy. Bad move. ‘I know, right? Probably something about helping find him or whatnot…either way…’ Not wise of her to do that. This is Wounded-san we’re talking about. ‘Yea. Everyone knows that anything regarding him is Sylvie-neesama’s forte.’ Unless… ‘…what?’ Unless Frill-san has no clue. ‘Hah!?’ No, seriously. Who said that every Tom, Dick and Harry knows about them two? You know how Sylvie-neesama likes to keep things all hush-hush. ‘So…you’re saying..’ Maybe she can’t be totally blamed?
“Trying to act intelligent just makes you seem even more incompetent than you actually are. I am handling the situation, and I have better officers than you assisting me, so bite your tongue and stay out of it. This is over your head, Warrant Officer Asani.” Ayame cringed. Ouch. Burn.
You’re feeling guilty, aren’t you? ‘…’ Aren’t you? ‘Why must you make this known to me?’ It’s in the job description. ‘Figures.’ So what are you gonna do? ‘…aren’t I supposed to ask you that?’ Why would you think that? ‘Well, y’know…Conscious…supposed to help me make good choices, moral decision making powers FTW, all that jazz?’ ummmm….no. Not this time. ‘Frak.’
Ayame sighed softly. This was becoming troublesome. She shouldn’t have dragged Sylvie like this. She should’ve let her stay in the comfort of her office. Sure it would’ve meant she would be working, but frankly…seemed better than this. Plus, if she was back at home, at least the officer would have gone there and none of this conflict would have occurred. It was all her fault…
Hey, perk up. You’re not supposed to be gloomy, remember? You’re supposed to provide smiles 24/7, 365 days a year (366 on leap years). Quit being emo. It’ll only make Sylvie-neesama worry. We don’t want that, do we? No need to cause her more trouble. Ayame quickly blinked back any more tears that were threatening to come out.
‘At least it’s just Sylvie-neesama…would suck major monkey ass if the entire family was- Eric-niisama at 12 o’clock ‘Huh?’ Ayame turned her head over to the right, her eyes landed on the figure of her dear elder brother. Who looked absolutely confuzzled.
…ah frak on a stick with jelly beans.
She quickly wiped away the tears from her cheeks, forcing a bright smile on her face. Choosing to remain in the security of her elder sister’s arms, Ayame waved over to him. “Yo, Euric-niisama. Welcome to the party.” She laughed nervously, her eyes flashing back to Sylvana’s face.
“Your chosen bride’s bloodline is not distinguished enough to mix with that of a prince, and neither her military rank nor her piloting skill is anywhere near impressive enough to supersede that insufficient bloodline.” Oh my. Second degree burn, huh? Ouch. Ayame gulped slightly, turning her eyes to Euric. “Lotsa drama going on here. We’re gonna audition for SOAPnet. I think we would be a hit.” she half joked before turning her head back to Miyuki.
“Um…Asani-san?” she began in a somewhat small voice, her tone hinting that she was actually choosing her words carefully for once. “Don’t take any offense to this, please. Y’see…Wounded-san he’s…he’s kinda ubberly important to Sylvie-neesama. I can’t fill you in on the details cuz frankly…well, it’s not my place…” Ayame’s eyes flashed back to Sylvie and then back to Miyuki. “Wounded-san is extremely important to me as well. So, since it is my place to say this, I ask you as kindly as possible…”Ayame turned fully to face Miyuki, golden eyes firm.
“Butt out.”

Kuro smiled a bit when Miyuki tried to help but his smile faded to a scowl as he started to here Sylvana yell at her he tightened his fists and tried to remain calm if he threw a punch at Sylvana it would mean doom for him and Miyuki"I don't think they deserve to know now about our project if sylvana miss act perfect or your a disgrace to the family wants to act like this" he said before he caught Sylvanas next sentence"Trying to act intelligent just makes you seem even more incompetent than you actually are. I am handling the situation, and I have better officers than you assisting me, so bite your tongue and stay out of it. This is over your head, Warrant Officer Asani" kuro glared even harder at her"Thats over the line Sylvana she was only trying to help but you always seem to overlook the fact she is trying to be nice who cares about being formal right now and who give a damn about captian lewdedo or whatever his name is anyway" he snarled he knew ayame cared for this man but right now Kuro was to angry to care as he heard sylvana talk about how unworthy miyuki was he finaly snapped"Enough Sylvana! if you have so much of a probelm with her then you can leave and not bother me anymore don't expect any more party invatations from me" he said as he turned to walk to the other side of the pool and he waved at euric as he went by"miyuki I'll be over here the site of my older sister is making me sick" he hissed as he relaxed in a chair

"You mistake my trying to act intelligent for showing concern for a fellow military personal. Is that not allowed? I can imagine the amount you two are under- upon this news. To avoid any other possible outbursts, I suggest the two of you leave right now. Like it or not, eventually I will be in this family; and as for what I said earlier about the project kuro and I have been working on- I hope that it will give us a clear victory- and by us, I mean britiannia. I didn't know that marriages were all about social status, and high standings; I had a notion that love would be in the mix, but apparnetntly not."
She then turned to eric, and saluted him. "I beg your pardon for all of this- but one of you sisters seems to have it out for me, why I'm not sure. You can join us on the other side of the pool, if you'd like."
With that, she turned and joined kuro, sitting beside him, and trying to calm him down. "Kuro, what say I take you to visit my cousins in China? They would love to meet you, especially Rei rei." She laughed as she spoke now. "She's been bugging me to bring you, she's like a big sister- always nosy. It would be a nice change of scenery."

The First Prince had indeed arrived just in time to catch most of his older sister's first outburst, and then (naturally) the whole of the second one. “Yo, Euric-niisama. Welcome to the party.” Party. Quite the different it seemed from the 'happy happy joy joy' Euric could have expected - hoped it to rather be. But no. He had landed into quite much something else. It had never been too common for his siblings to have this stormy encounters until lately, but even knowing their more or less hot tempers, he had to admit that it was very rare to see Sylvana this much enraged. "...We’re gonna audition for SOAPnet. I think we would be a hit." A very Ayame-like welcome, that one was. A nervous laugh escaped Euric's mouth. Well, sure it would - anything like this about the royal family would be a blockbuster. If it ever got out to the public. Which would be better not to happen.
But. The situation was very much inflamed - well, that was obvious. Now, at first, Euric saw it better to just keep listening and observing - to possibly make something more out of it. Something for him to from begin to try and cool them off, at least. He could never leave them as they were now, without even trying to do something about it.
What he made out of it then - Sylvana, Vana; infuriated. Kuro - as well, more than just simply offended. Ayame - well, she seemed to be the only one who at least tried to be polite and somewhat civil. The one out of all of them. Euric could but slightly shake his head. How had it got this bad... And Kuro's consort - Miyuki Asani, as Ayame's words to her were very much welcome to remind him. Clearly, she was offended too, but also rude - intentionally or not - at the same time. One thing which probably had got Sylvana frustrated - lack of sense of her status nor the standard she was expected to behave at when in a company like this one. "You mistake my trying to act intelligent for showing concern for a fellow military personal. Is that not allowed?" Not - if she knew to whom she was talking to. And being in the military herself, she should have. " I can imagine the amount you two are under- upon this news. --" No. She definitely could not - maybe imagine, yes, but not know anything of it. " --Like it or not, eventually I will be in this family; and as for what I said earlier about the project kuro and I have been working on- I hope that it will give us a clear victory- and by us, I mean britiannia. I didn't know that marriages were all about social status, and high standings; I had a notion that love would be in the mix, but apparnetntly not." He could pretty much not believe his ears. As he had not got the chance to but namely meet the girl at the first party his younger brother had held, he had not got any impression of her until now. Asani... Well, the name overall didn't exactly ring any bells for Euric, apart from that he fairly remembered the name probably belonged to a noble house. Which made Euric wonder even more - it made her to supposedly have manners and her having gone through education in etiquette, and it gave even less excuses why she behaved like she had none of those. Or, Euric did believe she tried her best to be nice, but given with whom she was dealing with, she had probably the most wrong means and attitude in her pursuit to achieve said result.
Then again, towards him, she didn't give off that much attitude than when speaking to Sylvana. "I beg your pardon for all of this- but one of you sisters seems to have it out for me, why I'm not sure. You can join us on the other side of the pool, if you'd like." Euric did greet her back with a nod and a polite smile, but before he had anything to answer she had gone further already. Euric was left for a moment to face the situation in disbelief - his siblings... were split. Over a girl, who had all the wrong means to approach his family.
Euric knew his brother could be hard-headed at times, but seemed like he had totally lost it after he had got this Miyuki by his side. At least he hadn't gone to an open war with his own siblings - half or not - before. But now... He hated to even think such things, let alone observe them happening, and as he was one to love his family very deeply, this hurt him as well. Frankly, it tore him apart. He should not, could not side with anyone, but he couldn't let the situation be as it was either. But, they had quite efficiently driven him between thick and thin.
It could have been too much. Very much indeed was.
"...Thats over the line Sylvana she was only trying to help but you always seem to overlook the fact she is trying to be nice who cares about being formal right now and who give a damn about captian lewdedo or whatever his name is anyway" Kuro's words snapped Euric out of just observing. To think they had come to this... Sure, Kuro had been the one out of them to have most different opinions, but Euric could listen to no more. He wouldn't wait for Sylvana's reaction. Nor Vana's for that matter. From what the First Prince had gathered, it was all about Miyuki. From what he had now observed the girl Kuro had chosen to be his, he could understand a little of why she wasn't exactly appealing to Sylvana. But it didn't justify that they were clearly, intentionally hitting back... With things they should have just let be. Of course Kuro had a right to be offended and defending/protective over his consort - she meant her very best when trying to keep harm away from her brother, but Sylvana could be harsh, albeit on the other hand Euric knew she wouldn't have been that much if her words had fulfilled their purpose with softer methods first. But it was not an excuse for his younger half-brother to not listen to reason she told him. And above it all, to hurt her on purpose afterwards.
That wouldn't do.
"Kuro, please, stop. You have a right to be offended, but giving offends back will never help anyone." The calm, conciliatory tone of voice and the words coming out of the First Prince's mouth came now more from Euric's spine than from his conscious mind. The natural instinct, and the years of experience had done their job - the prince cornered in his mind, they'd take the lead in the middle of his storm of thoughts. He let it go. "Kuro - and miss Asani, respectively - you are indeed right about love. Love should definitely be in the mix - I'd be nothing but against your being together if it was not there." He gave them a small smile, though soon his face returning back to serious. He didn't move to any direction, but kept his stand at the end of the pool, equally between the too camps that had formed at the opposite sides of it. "But, like you said yourself, it is in the mix. And by saying it yourself you should understand that a mix doesn't consist of one thing alone. Sylvana is right to say that there are also other things than love to determine suitability of someone who's going to marry into the royal family. One is, that the one doing so should understand their position. I don't want to sound like the royals would be any better or above other people, but like in any family, a new boy or girlfriend wouldn't probably just bump in and claim herself as a part of the family, would they? " He kept a tiny pause. "They probably wouldn't. Miyuki, I do understand your feelings to be not treated the way you'd like, and I understand you've been trying to be nice, but one should also understand that if the way they're making their approach isn't working, they shouldn't push it but try some else way. I don't tell you to be not yourself, but as someone trying to become a part of our family - heck with royalty for now - you should be able to adapt and assimilate to our ways also. It's not just us accepting you as you are, or a part of our family - but you should also accept us the way we are and as parts of your family as well. I personally don't care about status - knowing me, I'll probably end up with some random citizen out of nowhere or something -", he laughed, " and that way being a noble is probably far better than that. But as one of such standing, you of all should know better than think only love matters in a marriage such as this one would be. One becoming a consort, let alone a wife of a prince, should also understand the responsibilities of such a status. Life of a royal - that I can assure you - is not a free one. If you intend to become one, being careful never hurts. This is were the difference lies - as a royal consort, you're not allowed to be only yourself. You're bound by the rules and limitations which come along with the status, and you're expected to understand your place and act the way it implies. Even nobles are not allowed to do as they please - and I do sincerely hope you don't think otherwise - but a life of a royal is even more binding. Otherwise high esteem or not, if even realizing that is too much, then one is not up to take the place as a royal consort." At this point Euric knew very well that he himself was kind of annulling Sylvana's words, but it was one of his differences. "Miss Asani. You're still young, and if you do your best, I'm sure you'll be able to reach some standard enough for my older sister. But either way becoming part of this family will demand flexibility and understanding from you also, and I'm afraid only being yourself isn't enough. I do hope for the sake of this family - which I do love deeply and to which I wish only the best - that you would understand what I'm trying to say. This has all been said with all respect, and I do apologize if I've offended you even more. It has not been my intention, on no account."
Whoa. So much of the storm of thoughts - though some of them the First Prince had (wisely?) left not said out loud. He was still standing still at the end of the pool, now making his first move after some while. He took a step - though not yet sure to which way he would be headed - but standing for some time in the heat they where still enjoying had done it's deed. The muggy collar around his neck did not exactly make him feel any better either, and by taking this one step Euric overbalanced, and by his feet betraying him, was sent flying down right to the cool water.

“Um… Asani-san?” Sylvana took several slow, deep breaths as Ayame spoke up. If her sister could diffuse the situation Sylvana would fund her sugar stash for a year. “Don’t take any offense to this, please. Y’see… Wounded-san he’s… he’s kinda ubberly important to Sylvie-neesama. I can’t fill you in on the details cuz frankly… well it’s not my place…” Sylvana was willing to let that comment go for the moment. Yes, he was important but not for the reasons Ayame seemed to believe. “Wounded-san is extremely important to me as well. So, since it is my place to say this, I ask you as kindly as possible… Butt out.”
“You mistake my trying to act intelligent for showing concern for a fellow military personal.” Sylvana grit her teeth. The girl just didn’t listen! Even after a rather kind request from Ayame (certainly a kinder one than Sylvana herself would have given), she insisted on pushing her luck. “Is that not allowed?” No, it was not when she was a Warrant Officer addressing the Commander of the Army. She took orders and didn’t ask questions except perhaps of her immediate superiors. This was Sylvana’s affair, and it was well above the warrant officer’s head. “I can imagine the amount of stress you two are under – upon this news.” No, she couldn’t. She had no clue how much stress Sylvana was under at this point. She couldn’t even fathom it even if she was, in fact, trying to be sympathetic. “I didn’t know that marriages were all about social status, and high standings; I had a notion that love would be in the mix, but apparently not.” And there was probably the biggest problem. This girl was supposedly noble, but had no concept of how the real world worked. Sylvana didn’t disagree with her notion. She would want nothing more than to marry for love, but that wasn’t how their world worked. Royalty and nobles alike were matched based on status to increase the prestige of a family and to breed suitable heirs. Nobles, especially noble daughters, did not have the luxury of marrying for love. And admittedly part of Vana’s anger was rooted in jealousy, but it was not as simple as that.
“ Those fantasies do not apply to nobility or royalty! You should know that! Nobles marry for status to preserve their line, not for love. If the two happen to coincide it is pure coincidence. If you want to marry for love, marry a peasant if your family will permit it. Not a prince!” Sylvana couldn’t even begin to comprehend how this girl could have such a loose grasp of reality. She didn’t deny that mismatched marriages happened on occasion, but the couple was often disowned by their respective families (or at least from the higher ranked one). Honestly, Sylvana wasn’t sure if Alastair would allow Kuro to be disowned, but if it was up to her she might seriously consider it.
“And never assume that you understand the amount of stress I am under. You can’t imagine it because you clearly have no sense of military protocol at all, so how could you possibly even begin to fathom the amount of work and therefore stress that goes into being a commander? You can’t even properly conduct yourself as a warrant officer! Your treatment of me as a princess aside, you can’t even properly address me as your superior officer, as your Commander!” Kuro was clearly getting more irritated with her, but she was beyond concerned with upsetting him, and her own furious blue eyes met Kuro’s angry gaze evenly. Sylvana saw his fists tightening and her arms loosened around her sister just slightly as she shifted her stance enough to allow her to pivot freely. She was practically daring him to throw a punch and start a fight that she would happily finish. With any luck both he and his concubine would end up in the pool by the end of it, but she’d settle for at least Kuro on the ground at her feet. Sylvana would never (or at least not without a significant amount of provocation) throw a punch at a sibling, but she had no such rule about retaliating if one of her siblings chose to strike first. In an uncharacteristically wise decision, Kuro decided not to start the fight, but whether he’d hadn’t done so out of respect or self preservation, Sylvana didn’t know.
“That’s over the line, Sylvana! She was only trying to help, but you always seem to overlook the fact she is trying to be nice. Who cares about being formal right now and who gives a damn about Captain Lewdedo, or whatever his name is anyway?!” Kuro had chosen a verbal war over a physical one, and in doing so he had very quickly surpassed Sylvana’s preset bar of what constituted ‘significant provocation,’ and had Ayame not still been attached to her and physically between herself and her brother, Kuro would have very quickly found himself on the ground.
Bristling with anger, Vana could only throw words of her own back at him. “That is not over the line. I have every right to scold a soldier for being inappropriate with a superior officer. This is beyond my dislike of her as your current concubine. She speaks out of turn in regards to a military matter, and I have every right to reprimand her for that. Never question me on that!” Sylvana’s eyes narrowed slightly and her grip on Ayame tightened as a way of preventing her from deciding to physically lash out at Kuro anyway. “And you had best watch what you say, Brother, because your words could easily be construed as treason, and if you were anyone else I would have you arrested right here and now. Do so again, and I will not forgive it simply because we share blood.” It was a very real threat. Even if the comment hadn’t been about this particular captain, the Commander did not take kindly to anyone referring to her soldiers as disposable. She wouldn’t stand for it.
“Enough, Sylvana! If you have so much of a problem with her then you can leave and not bother me anymore. Don’t expect any more party invitations from me.”
"Kuro, please, stop. You have a right to be offended, but giving offends back will never help anyone." Sylvana’s eyes widened in surprise and she turned to her brother. She’d forgotten he was here. Taking a breath again, Sylvana tried to calm her anger. While she would much prefer to unleash it, preferably on Kuro at present, she realized that it was getting her nowhere. She was not usually the diplomatic one, especially not when she was this close to the issue. Euric was. Sylvana didn’t need to win this argument. She’d like to, but she didn’t need to. She’d settle for Kuro and his consort seeing reason. “Sylvana is right to say that there are also other things than love to determine suitability of someone who's going to marry into the royal family. One is, that the one doing so should understand their position. I don't want to sound like the royals would be any better or above other people, but like in any family, a new boy or girlfriend wouldn't probably just bump in and claim herself as a part of the family, would they?" That wasn’t a point that Sylvana had given much weight considering her other problems with the arrangement, but it was very true. Miyuki kept saying that the royal family had to accept her, but what about the reverse of that? Sylvana might have been more disproving of other things, but this was behavior of Miyuki’s was one of the things that mader her very angry. Both her and Kuro wanted Sylvana and the rest of the family to conform to their opinion, but they refused to even see where Sylvana was coming from. Even if they did though, it wouldn’t make Sylvana more accepting of the arrangement, but it would make her significantly less angry and much more willing to actually discuss it.
"I don't tell you to be not yourself, but as someone trying to become a part of our family - heck with royalty for now - you should be able to adapt and assimilate to our ways also. It's not just us accepting you as you are, or a part of our family - but you should also accept us the way we are and as parts of your family as well. I personally don't care about status.” Neither did Kuro apparently, and Sylvana doubted Ayame did either, but both Euric and Ayame knew that it mattered a great deal to Vana. Kuro should have too. It was no secret that Vana’s life was built around propriety. She hated that Kuro refused to acknowledge that too. “- knowing me, I'll probably end up with some random citizen out of nowhere or something-" Euric laughed about it, but Sylvana wouldn’t be any happier about Euric’s choice of bride in that case than she was about Kuro’s. In fact, since he’s the First Prince, she’d be even less thrilled. The difference would be that he’d handle it much better than Kuro was currently. "and that way being a noble is probably far better than that.” Better but still not great. “Life of a royal - that I can assure you - is not a free one. Otherwise high esteem or not, if even realizing that is too much, then one is not up to take the place as a royal consort." Sylvana was calmer down. Euric was definitely better equipped to handle this especially considering her own personal opinions on the matter. While she didn’t know if the girl would ever win her approval, if she would at least behave properly Sylvana would not dislike her so much. "This has all been said with all respect, and I do apologize if I've offended you even more. It has not been my intention, on no account." Sylvana would make so such apology.
The sudden splash of water made Sylvana look back to Euric quickly rather than just listening to him. She sighed, seeing him in the pool Graceful as always. “Ayame, will you please go drag your brother out of the water?” She asked with a slight hint of a smile again. With several deep breaths, Vana was beginning to let her anger go. She kept enough of it so that she wasn’t consumed with worry instead. But if she could calm down she could leave to worry about the captain back at her office. This was hardly the place for that.

Despite being much calmer than she was five seconds ago, Ayame remained clung to Sylvana. It was a habit. Whenever she felt like something was going to explode in a not so fun way, Ayame found refuge in her elder sister’s arms. Sure it was deemed to be childish, but in all honesty, Ayame didn’t give a damn. “You mistake my trying to act intelligent for showing concern for a fellow military personal.” If there was a brick wall, Ayame would’ve clonked her head against it. Actually, strike that. If there was a brick wall, she would’ve rammed her head into by now. Suppressing a groan, Ayame silently begged with her eyes at Miyuki to quit while she was still in one piece. ‘Down, girl…this isn’t something you wanna dip your feet in. This is deep water your entering…do you not see the smoke coming out from Sylvie-neesama’s ears!? Bad girl! Down! Ahhh, baka…’ She gently clonked her head into Pon-Pon’s. And people said she gave headaches…
“I can imagine the amount of stress you two are under – upon this news. Ayame blinked dryly to herself. Yea. Sure she could. Sure she could imagine having someone who saved her sibling’s ass be captainapped, probably mutilated in some fashion, and be playing hide and seek from her. Mmhm. Totally could. “To avoid any other possible outbursts, I suggest the two of you leave right now.”
She tried. Really she tried. But no lip biting could prevent the laugh that escaped Ayame’s mouth. She did not! She did not just ‘suggest’ that two princesses (one being the freaking crowned one herself) to leave! Ohhh, how sensei was gonna adore hearing about this. Maybe Ayame would finally get a peer in her lessons. Company was always appreciated.
Shoulders shaking in laughter, Ayame wondered for a moment if maybe this sudden outburst of hers was just from stress overload. Maybe she was going crackers. More than usual, of course. But…one had to admit, that Miyuki chick could be pretty damn funny if she wanted to. Kicking two princesses out…priceless!
Turning around in Sylvie’s arms so that she was facing the Odd Couple, Ayame couldn’t help keep the stupid grin off of her face. Her eyes focused on Frill-san for a good minute, golden orbs practically daring the girl to carry out her threat. The competitive monster was taking over again. ‘Just try, sweetpea. Just try to kick me out without me having a good swim.’ A wide smirk spread across her face. ‘Bring it on, bitch. Bring. It. On.’
“Who cares about being formal right now and who gives a damn about Captain Lewdedo, or whatever his name is anyway?!” Kuro’s voice snapped Ayame out of her thoughts, and the challenging glint left her eyes. Instead, a look strongly resembling PMS replaced it. Complete with eye twitch.
Now, Ayame was not who really got angry. Really. She was perhaps the most lax one out of everyone in the whole bloody family. But there were certain things that even she, the Liberal Spazz Case of D00M, could not let slide by.
Calling her Snuggalicious Captain names like some two-year-old was one of them. Apparently Sylvie wasn’t too thrilled either, for soon the Third Princess felt the grip around her chest increase ten-fold. “*gasp* S-Sylvie-nee…sama…need…to…breathe…”
Somehow managing to worm her way out of Sylvie’s headlock, Ayame took a grateful breath of fresh air, rubbing her neck slightly. “That’s some grip ya got there, Nee-sama…” Ayame muttered, cracking a toothy grin over to her elder sister. Turning back to Kuro, Ayame folded her arms tightly around her chest, Pon-Pon snuggled in securely. “Kuro-niisama, to answer your question I[/b] give a damn about Captain Leodegrance. And so should you. He’s saved Sylvie-neesama’s (forgive me for the lingo here) ass. If that doesn’t merit recognition, then tell me my dear brother. What does?”[/color] She softened her look as another tired smile replaced the frown. “So don’t treat him like he’s some dirt bag, okies?”
Deciding that perhaps she could use that pina colata (that, and she just needed to get out for a sec), Ayame fluttered over to a waiter where she was kindly given her drink. Complete with little umbrella sticking out. Ooh, in funky orange too. Snazzalicious~
Taking a sip, Ayame stared out at the pool, a small frown gracing her face. How did it all come to this? This was supposed to be a pool party! A freaking party! Not some soap opera set! Yet, here they were…worthy of some new rendition of Romeo and Juliet. Was enough to make her gag. ‘Well, at least the drinks are good…’
“…I do apologize if I've offended you even more. It has not been my intention, on no account." Ah. Apparently Euric had given his share of what he thought about all of this Ayame noticed as she bopped back to her elder siblings.
Ayame flashed a look around the crowd. Uy. Air was still hardly breathable. She sighed heavily. And here’s where she comes in…
“Random question: when are we gonna sw-
SPLASH
“…im…” Ayame blinked twice at the pool where small bubbles were surfacing, the result of Euric’s ever-so-graceful tumble.
snort
Again, the full blown laughter that came from Ayame was totally uncalled for, yet totally unstoppable. It was just…so typical of all people here, for Euric to be the one to just slip. “Ayame, will you please go drag your brother out of the water?” She didn’t need to be asked twice. Finally! Finally she was going to do what she came here to do-cause mayhem via water.
Grinning as she slipped off her outer clothing, while dumping them over Pon-Pon (to protect him from getting wet), Ayame kicked off her sandals before cannonballing perfectly into the pool. Making sure those who were too slow got a nice soaking.
Slinking his left arm around her shoulder, Ayame brought her elder brother to the surface, grinning stupidly at him. “Y’know, Euric-niisama…if you wanted to swim, ya could’ve just said so.” She said before splashing him in the face, the wide grin never fading. “Great minds think alike, eh?”
The little spazz turned her head to Sylvana and company. "Oy. Aren't y'all coming in? I mean, this is a pool party, no?" A somewhat evil grin crept up the corners of her mouth and her eyes shined with pure mischievousness.
"Unless...you want me to bring you guys here myself?"
