Hello all my beautiful peoples~
Well, we off to a wonderful start of the new year, so to go along with it Staff has come up with a new twist in regards to EXP/Credit distribution.
As many of you know, characters earn EXP through postage and whanot (users also get their credits to buy shiny shit from here as well). However, it has come to the attention of us that our system isn't so, how to put it, fair to those who really put effort into their works.
So we've come up with a new system. Well, more like an attachment to go along with the old one. Credits and EXP will still be distributed using the ratio as before, but on top of that there is an extra bonus that people can earn granted they deserve it. For regular, non-plot based threads chosen people will receive an extra 10 EXP/credits on top of their total. For plot-based threads, individuals will receive an extra 30.
There is one main requirement one must fulfill in order to get this: put some damn effort into your post. And no, writing 101 words does not cut it. We are serious here. This extra bonus is designed specifically for those who actually put some effort into their writing, and not for those who think this is some AIM chat room.
Here is a brief list of what is meant by a "kick-ass writer:"
- One who writes posts that incorporate all other posts (ie: say Vierre, Anju and Yeka are RPing. Anju and Yeka go. If Vierre were a crappy RPer, he'd only focus on what one person was saying, essentially ignoring the other's post.)
- One who goes beyond the limit. I know we ask for 100 word, but would it kill you to try and write more? It's not that hard. Besides, follow the previous bullet and you'll get an easy extra 200 words to work with.
-***QUALITY*** As much as quantity is appreciated, it is shit without quality. We do not care if you write a freaking 1000 word novel. It means nothing if it makes no sense. For example, say two people post. One person writes 800, the other 300. The person who wrote 800 did a craptacular job, whereas the 300 word person took his/her time and wrote something that made people sit back and go "wow." This person would get the bonus EXP.
***CORRECT GRAMMAR*** Another biggie. Huns, with all due respect there is something called WordCheck. Use it. You guys have no idea how annoying it is for us grammar freaks to sit there and read post that were obviously not proof-read. Seriously. We're not babies, and Staff is not your Mama. Grow the hell up and check your own posts.
- Clarity: this kinda falls in between quality and grammar. Basically, make sure your posts make sense! Don't go off tangent, for example...say two people are in a bar (I dunno). Don't have your charrie suddenly…well, I suppose anything goes in a bar, but you get the general idea! No total OOC crap. Be consistent.
So there you have it. This is just a general idea of the BIG things Staff is gonna keep an eye out for in regards to postage. We may add more to this if we have a sudden stroke of genius, but for now here it is.
~Staff~
PS: any bitching about this, automatic no EXP whatsoever. Yea. We no like whinny prats.
EDIT: Another thing I forgot to mention. This new feature works in the opposite direction. Meaning, if you write crappily, you will get penalized for it. Now we understand that not everyone is a bloody scholar. But we do have a standard here, and to be quite honest, if your post makes people's heads hurt, then frankly you deserve it. So for non-plot threads, those who give crappy posts will LOOSE 10 EXP/credits, and should it be a plot thread, it will be -30. Now don't go thinking we're picking on anyone, because frankly-we aren't. This is just a way to reward those who spend time and truly work at their posts, as well as giving some sort of motivation to those who don't give two pieces of a monkey's ass. Maybe now everyone will stop and go back to that word that has a green or red squiggle under it, hm?
